Global Warming - need more than carbon limits?
I heard recently that even if everyone abided by the Kyoto protocols we'd still be dumping too much carbon into the air to stop warming. And there's no good way to filter out/sequester carbon from the atmosphere. Seems like even if we did everything possible (short of returning to caves) we'd hardly make a dent in this problem.
Do we need to think outside the box? I heard of this one scientist who proposed putting a chemical into the stratosphere (can't remember details) to reflect some light back into space. This could potentially slow/stop warming regardless of carbon content. Do you think this is a good idea? Should we look into other ideas like this? Or is this kind of tampering too likely to create new, unforseen problems?
BTW, I posted this question earlier in the Environment section but mostly I got standard environmentalist party-line answers plus one GW denier. I'm looking for more scientific answers here.
We need to have more Earth Shamans that can hold a space of ceremony for the Earth, Air, and environment...and we need to find other fuels to burn that send out less air pollution. how that for a more scientific answer! ou should pray for the sky more! And stop reading so many boring scientific data and play more with your wife.
