Allowing puppy to go potty inside the house?
I am so confused about housebreaking our new puppy. All of the books and articles we read discourage the use of newspaper or peepee pads because it will encourage the puppy to go inside. However, we have a tiny 9 week old Chihuahua and we live in Montreal where it is freezing! Our little guy has already learned where his pad's spot is and he is about 85% accurate. Are we doing something wrong in allowing him to go inside permanently? Will he eventually learn his spot 100% and never go elsewhere in the house?
First off dont believe everthing you read. There is nothing wrong with using pee pee pad for indoor dogs. The problem that may happen is that if he gets 100% with his pee pee pads and then winter is over and you want to take him outside you may have problems. But if you are like me, I have a Yorkie and he doesnt go outside. He uses pee pee pads and is 100%. They are easy to clean up and there isnt much of an odor as long as you change the pad ofte,. I know there are many kinds of pee pee pads out there but the ones made by Natures Miracle are the best. Actually all of the products by that line are great! I live in an apartment and that is the best way for me, however my dog actually hates going outside...not sure why?!?!?!? lol anyways...good luck and dont feel bad for doing what is right for your lifestyle. And he will learn to use his pads 100% no worries!!
